During my Bachelor ‘s classes at UQAC in 2015, we had to create a video game in 14 weeks.
On this special project, special as I got called by the Bachelor’s director to join the development team as they were lacking a competent game developer.
We made this game from the GDD to the playable release we demonstrated at some video games related events.
Goat & Gongs is a cooperative type game designed for 2 players. You play as a monks and your objective is to protect a goat, by blocking incoming fire beams, and allowing it to get through temple’s rooms.

This project was made in collaboration with the NAD, which students worked on the game’s graphic.
Upon completion we presented our game at some events at Montréal, as we were pretty proud of our work.
- IGDA – Demonight 2016, an event to allow small developpers to present their works in front of Montréal’s gaming industry.
- Festival Montréal Joue – A huge meeting, where the NAD met with persons involved in the gaming industry. We were even proposed by Spearhead games to continue the developpement and releasing it on Steam. Unfortunately, all being student we had to post-pone the offer due to time contraints.

On the project, I contributed on the following parts:
- Goat Pathfinding
- The goat goes from A to B on a specified path ignoring players
- The goat kicks players away when they’re blocking it
- Collision responses
- Blocking the firebeams with the shield
- When the players, or the goat, are hit on their bodies
- Event trigger when the goat arrive at the end of the level
- Save management
- Saving the highscore in a file
- Saving the level progression
